Last Will and Testament of Saint Gabriel (Urgebadze)

        Glory to God in Christ.
I ask forgiveness and blessing from His Holiness and Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II. I ask forgiveness from clergymen, monks and nuns and I leave my blessing upon all of you. God is love. I tried hard but was unable to attain the love of God and neighbor according to the commandments of our Savior. Love is the only goal of man in this visible world to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven and rest in the Eternity. Let me be buried without a coffin, wrapped up in a mantle. Be kind and humble. God remembered us in our low estate; God gives grace to the humble. Be humble and kind and love everyone around you. I carry a love for all of you – orthodox people and every man born unto this world. The purpose of this life is to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven; be close to God and rest in the Eternity. And I wish you all the same. I give my blessing upon all of you in order not to lose the grace of God; Let everybody be worthy to inherit the Kingdom. There is no one on earth who earned salvation and had not sinned. I’m only a great sinner, unworthy and feeble. When you pass by my grave, I beg you with all the love - pray for the repose of the soul of a sinner. I was dust, and to dust I have returned.
The truth is in the immortality of the spirit.

Monk Gabriel
